Doctrine of the Orb
House of Orb began with the Orb itself.
One afternoon, Saint Marcus found the Orb at a scrap dealer. To most people it probably looked like something odd, forgotten, and ready to be thrown away. But Saint Marcus saw something in it. He felt that it did not belong in the scrap pile. It needed a new home.
So the Orb was rescued and brought back to Quigley.
Not long after, founding members saw the Orb and felt that it had become something more than just an object. It had a presence. It was somehow important. From there, it began to grow into something more.
The Orb became a reason for people to gather.
What started as an object in a backyard slowly became a symbol for the kind of community we wanted to build: creative, welcoming, playful, safe. House of Orb grew from that feeling. It became a way for people to make fun spaces, share ideas, help each other, learn from each other, and create events where people could feel included.
The Orb means that community can begin anywhere, even with something found by chance. It reminds us that good things happen when people act on intuition, follow strange opportunities, and put effort into making them real.
To us, the Orb is not just about worship in a serious religious way. It is about belonging. It is about gathering around a shared symbol and choosing to make something together.
The Orb stands for participation, creativity, care, consent, gifting, and communal effort. It reminds us that everyone has something to bring. Some people bring music, art, costumes, food, building skills, ideas, organisation, or simply the willingness to show up and help.
House of Orb exists to foster a safe and inclusive community that supports events and creative expression. The Orb is the symbol at the centre of that purpose.
It is a reminder that the best communities are made by people who choose to care, create, include others, and keep showing up.
The Orb was saved from the scrap pile.
Now it reminds us to look for possibility in strange places, to build spaces where people feel welcome, and to make something joyful together.
About Us
House of Orb is a not-for-profit creative association with a long-standing internal joke that we are definitely, absolutely, legally, spiritually, and administratively a cult.
The joke has been there from the beginning because we like the theatre of devotion: devotion to community, devotion to silliness, devotion to creative effort, and devotion to the sacred work of making things happen with friends.
Our official constitutional purpose: To foster a safe and inclusive community facilitating events and creative/artistic expression.

So yes, the tone is cultish. The structure is association-ish. The mission is community, creativity, events, collaboration, and safe expression.
The Self-Aware Bit
House of Orb is a real not-for-profit association, not a real cult. The cult language is a community in-joke and aesthetic device. The constitutional purpose, safety expectations, committee work, member duties, and financial admin are real.
